10 cup Rice Cooker and me
A few weeks ago I was in my kitchen cooking rice.. Actually I was in my kitchen cooking Jamie Oliver’s Coconut Rice from his 15 minute meal book.
It didn’t work within the 10 minute time frame.
So what does a blogger do? Instagram and tweet.
And look what happened..
JAMIE OLIVER REPLIED!! If you were around that night, you would have seen that I ‘FREAKED’ out over it.. Celebrity Crush was in overdrive!!!
At the same time, I was watching with amazement that Kambrook’s 10 Cup Rice Cooker was cooking a whole meal in one go. Rice, Fish, Vegetables – or Rice, Chicken, Vegetables.. All in one go – one pot.. no need for anything else! Kids dinner done!
I have been able to test out this Rice Cooker and I seriously didn’t realise you could do so much more with it! You can cook different types of Risotto (this is including sauting the onion), Spicy Rice, Turkish Rice, Sushi – the variety of rice dishes are endless. Plus steam vegetables and meat and really anything at the same time!
Now to put the Rice Cooker through its paces!!
At the beginning of last month, my son was not well. He ended up in hospital with a nasty bacterial infection. It took me a while to get his eating habits back to normal.
So I whipped up a batch of rice and steamed vegetables with a Lambchop for him to chew on (molars were starting to break through) and he loved it!
Oh yes.. I had steamed some pork buns while I was at it for my own snack!
Risotto is the one thing I don’t make. I have alot of failed attempts in the past – my husband cooks the risotto because he says I am not patient enough to wait to pour in the stock slowly..
However, I made my own version of Cheesy Risotto and Vegetables and following the instructions.. it really was quite easy!!
Then we tried making our own Sushi!! I love Sushi, but have not attempted to roll it before.. I thought, why not give it a whirl, try something new.. and try out the sushi roller I have had sitting in my cupboard for the last two years. It worked perfectly and the kids loved it!
I am yet to find a Rice Pudding recipe that I won’t stuff up! Been looking for recipes.. Do you have a rice recipe you can share with me?

Oh I totally missed this. AWESOME that he replied! I would of freaked too!
The rice cooker looks fantastic. Anything that saves on dishes is a win for me. I’d be trying some fried rice in there!
How cool is that!! I would have gone nuts as well! You go girl!
Loving what your making with that Rice cooker thingy! You actually make it look kinda easy! I love sushi…would love to give that a go sometime. Not sure that I would cope though, really!
That’s one of the things I love about Twitter! Bless Jamie, but did it work with his tip??
xx
Yay!!!!
But, there is no such thing as a Rice Pudding recipe online that works, lol. I’ve experimented and each time it turned out better than the last. Experiment!!!
[...] Wow! Thanks to the overwhelming response from my 10 Cup Rice Cooker review.. [...]
