Pie… we love Pie
I have mentioned before that one of our favourite ways to use leftovers is in a pie. My husband introduced me to the ingenious pie maker when we were living in England. He said (and I quote) “Pie is good, Pie in a Pie Maker is amazing”. So we bought a pie maker, and that night he introduced me to the pie. Puff Pastry cooked to perfection, bolognaise inside with cheese on bottom and top.. it was amazing!
Last night I made pie for my little ones, I had bought a cheap mini pie maker.. (on sale at Woolies) only to find out it didn’t come with the pastry cutters………… phone call to the company a little later today……… My hubby spent about 15 minutes trying to decide what was the best shape/size glass, cup, bowl to cut the pastry out of. He is, ofcourse, the master of Pie Making, this had to be perfect!
The husband says that anything can go in a pie.
We have used Spag bol, Beef/Chicken Strog, Spicy Mince, Curry, Quiche, Pasta Bake (though that was a little overload of carbs!), Chicken Pot Pie, Shepards Pie (one of my favourites). All you need is Puff Pastry and leftovers – 8 minutes – dinner is done!

My hubby also loves pie, as does my son, I never thought to put leftovers in it but I could kind of hide LOTS of things in there! Just normal puff pastry?
Hi Emily! Yes you can put anything in a pie – hide lots of pureed vegetables and mince!
Anything goes in a pie! Just normal puff pastry thawed from the freezer..

The pasta bake does sound a bit much. Would love a pie maker but cannot fit even one more appliance in our tiny rental

Oh I would love a pie maker! I would def have to make something with chunky meat, or maybe try a duck pie! I love duck!
